About Foxpath Flatcoated Retrievers
I have always had animals around, of various sorts mostly dogs & small mammals. Working and living on farms, countryside activities have held my interest.
My introduction to the flatcoat breed was to return from holiday in 1974 to find my neighbour had let my in season border collie out of the kennels, which had led to a few encounters with the local flatcoat Squash! She had been wandering loose for pretty much the whole of my two week holiday and had been mated to Squash several times, so we could not stop the misalliance. However it was eventually to lead me to acquire my own purebred flatcoated retrievers.
While in Devon I met my first liver coloured flatcoats. Their owner Mrs Morshead put us in touch with Brenda Phillips and into my life came the first of my flatcoats.
I have shown my dogs with some success. I am on the Flatcoated Retriever Society Breed judges B list. My first love is watching a happy dog working, and fulfilling it's dual purpose role.
Please note: I DO NOT breed for yellow or use yellow dogs in my breeding plans. If a yellow is accidently is produced it will be sold to a pet home with breeding restrictions placed on it.
